We are aware at Iskraemeco that the use of raw materials and natural sources for our products, activities and services has a direct impact on the environment. All employees therefore strive to preserve the environment and provide favourable living conditions for future generations. Permanent improvements in the field of environmental management are implemented by the integrated management system, by establishing the goal of minimizing negative impacts on the environment and by setting up the programmes for their implementation. The following measures are taken to minimize the environmental burden: Our activities, products and services respect and meet the requirements of applicable environmental legislation, regulations and other adopted documents. We materialise our activities, products and services by constantly improving our proficiency with appropriate environmental management and by preventing pollution in accordance with the currently available state-of-the-art techniques. Materials that are harmful to the environment are replaced with materials that are more environmentally friendly and can be reused, recycled or disposed of safely. The volume of waste is reduced by better utilisation of raw materials. Only previously processed residues that cannot be disposed of differently are deposited. Technologies that have a harmful effect on the environment are replaced with technologies which meet legislative requirements. State-of-the-art environmental protection is considered within the scope of economic opportunities. When planning new products, we take into consideration the entire product life cycle, from its development to appropriate management after expiry of its life span. We foster a more responsible attitude to environmental issues by regular training and raising the staff’s awareness. Successful implementation of measures for environmental protection is evaluated by periodic internal audits, which are carried out by properly trained auditors. Dieter Brunner
