Iskraemeco Group and Elektroprivjeda BiH, the owners of Iskraemeco Sarajevo, have invested 240,000 EUR in a new assembly line with the annual production capacity more than 50,000 smart meters. This investment of both shareholders is the result of a very good cooperation in the last eleven years since Iskraemeco Sarajevo was established. The cooperation is the continuation of a very innovative thinking and following up the most contemporary trends in the field of metering. The official opening of the new production line was held on Friday, 7 May. Single and three-phase smart meters, the products of Iskraemeco’s own know-how, will be assembled on this new production line.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is taking a huge step in technological development of its national metering. JP EP BiH is introducing smart meters and AMR/AMM system elements inside its Pilot project of automated remote reading and data transfer across the DLC network, which has proved as the most effective solution worldwide. The utility intends to make a direct transition from electromechanical meters to the contemporary world of smart metering solutions.
The director of Elektroprivjeda BiH, Mr. Amer Jerlagić, stated proudly on the occasion of the opening ceremony: »The meters whose production has now started are the first of the kind, not just in Bosnia and Herzegovina but also in the Balkan region. The Iskraemeco’s programme is well established inside our own development programmes. We intend to replace the old electromechanical meters with electronic ones at our 700,000 consumers and connect them in the AMI system in the next ten years.«
