Iskraemeco presents its strategy to 2011

At its regular session (22 January 2007) the managing board of Iskraemeco presented its proposal for the operational strategy until 2011. The company will increase its productivity, and positive operation is expected as early as 2008.

The operational strategy was presented by the managing board of Iskraemeco at its regular session. The supervisory board has confirmed suggested orientations. The managing board will support them with more detailed analyses at the earliest convenience. Development activities will be accelerated, and great attention will be focused on the development and optimization of meters for AMM systems with integrated modems. The products will also be adapted to the requirements of an individual market. Since more than 90 percent of the products are sold on markets outside Slovenia, sales activities will be targeted in particular at strengthening the position on present and potential markets as well as maintaining current market shares.

The company employed 1,542 workers at the beginning of this year. The planned strategy will also require restructuring workplaces, which will entail approximately 170 redundant staff by the end of the year. This has already been discussed with representatives of the trade unions and the works council. All redundant workers will receive redundancy pay at the time of terminating employment.

Iskraemeco has already signed contracts for orders amounting to two-thirds of the annual plan. By realising the market oriented strategy, the company will once more achieve growth and progress, and will again be one of the leading manufacturers of electricity meters.
